The Porsche Design Group (Porsche Lizenz- und Handelsgesellschaft mbH & Co. KG) has founded a subsidiary in Solothurn (Switzerland) to continue its tradition of offering high-quality timepieces. Porsche Design Timepieces AG, based in the Jurasuedfuß region of Switzerland, will be responsible for developing and producing exclusive Porsche Design timepieces; marketing and sales will be overseen by the Porsche Design Group, which is based in Ludwigsburg, Germany. The first watch series offered solely by Porsche Design has gone on sale in the fourth quarter of 2014.
As has been the case for more than 40 years, Porsche Design timepieces are positioned in an exclusive niche in the luxury watch category. The products are available around the world in the luxury brand's stores and from selected leading retailers. The first watch series offered solely by Porsche Design is reminiscent of the distinctive characteristics of the two most successful models produced by the luxury brand, the Chronograph I and the Titanium Chronograph, which were matt black and made from titanium respectively: The first model in the series – the Porsche Design Timepiece No. 1 – heralds the era of Timepieces made by Porsche Design.

The art in engineering
Complexity and Technology
Designed in Austria I Swiss made
The innovative drawings from the Porsche Design Studio give a team of timepiece-makers and engineers from Porsche Design Timepieces AG in Solothurn (Switzerland), a form to work with. This team is tasked with designing a very complex, technical masterpiece, which externally appears to have been honed down to the essentials. Alongside design, the use of high-tech materials is an abiding constant in the development of timepieces by Porsche Design. This is because, as Prof. F. A. Porsche believed: “Functional product design comes from intelligent synergy between tradition and advanced technology.”
The legendary Porsche Design Studio in Zell am See (Austria) represents a sleek, timeless, functional and unmistakable design signature. This forge of innovation is now regarded as one of the most renowned design houses in the world, having numerous international awards. This was the birthplace of the concept behind the Timepiece No.1, the Chronotimer Collection and the 1919 Collection, developed by Porsche Design Timepieces AG.
